A landmark Liverpool building is up for auction with planning permission to turn it into a scheme of luxury apartments.
Everton Water Tower, on Margaret Street, is due to go up for auction with Auction Estates later this month.
With a guide price of £65,000+ the impressive building was once a key water storage facility for the north of the city before it was decommissioned in 1977. However now is being put under the hammer, with planning permission, to turn it into luxury apartments and a large event space.
Described as an "ideal opportunity for developers" the landmark building is Grade 2 listed, which was built in 1857, stands at more than 30 metres tall and can be seen from large parts of Liverpool.

It was previously owned by United Utilities but was bought by Grey Goose in 2019, who in 2020 submitted proposals to build an apartment for visitors to the city.
Under those plans Grey Goose's said a lift would take visitors up the tower to the apartments while the zinc roof of the building would be replaced and a glazed glass structure offering 360 degree views of the city would be built in its place.
However despite these plans the building has sat idle for decades and now it is once again, having already been sold at auction in 2019, to go under the hammer once more.
On the Auction Estates website it states that planning permission comprises of the ground floor being turned into a luxury one bedroom apartment. On the first floor will be an entrance lobby and reception area, with a commercial kitchen and store area.
On the fifth floor there will be five luxury one bedroom apartments and on the sixth floor a large event space with rooftop terrace and toilets.
CGI images of what the inside of the tower could look like have also been shared with a modern design which combines marble, wood and brick.
On the website Auction Estates describes the tower as "a rare opportunity."
It states: "A rare opportunity to acquire a substantial landmark building on the Liverpool skyline comprising a Grade II Listed water tower with planning permission for a scheme of luxury apartments and large event space in the sought after area of Everton."
The auction is due to take place on June 22 at The Nottingham Racecourse.
