First look at I'm A Celeb South Africa promises MORE stars will enter camp as show airs

ITV have revealed their line-up for I'm A Celebrity South Africa hasn't been fully unveiled - teasing more stars will arrive in camp as the show airs next month.

The first trailer of the pre-recorded 'All Stars' version of the franchise dropped this morning, after hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly revealed the star-studded line-up live on Saturday Night Takeaway last night.

Former Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan, Shaun Ryder, Amir Khan, Jordan Banjo and Phil Tufnell are amongst the past campers returning for another stint sleeping under the stars in the name of entertainment.

Joining them are Janice Dickinson, Fatima Whitbread, Paul Burrell, and Carol Vorderman, who have all also previously appeared on the regular series of the long-running reality TV show.

But not every I'm A Celebrity alumni who signed up for a second round on the show has been announced.

Following the big reveal by Ant and Dec last night, ITV have now released a short preview and shown the campers in their new setting for the very first time - with the promise more stars are yet to revealed!

"There will be many more celebrities taking part in the series but viewers will have to watch to find out who they are and when they will enter camp," ITV wrote as they shared the teaser.

"Whilst nodding back to the Australian jungle, I'm A Celebrity...South Africa is a uniquely different series so viewers can look forward to lots of unexpected twists and turns.

"They survived the Australian jungle, but South Africa is an even harder proposition which will push them to their limits and test them like never before. The challenges are bigger and tougher and the environment harsher and more unforgiving."

As the clip shows the stars arriving at camp via helicopter, Happy Mondays star Shaun Ryder muses: "I wonder who's crackers enough to do it again?"

Ant and Dec can then be heard telling the celebrity campers: "Welcome to your new home for the next few weeks."

"You all survived the Australian jungle but this is a whole new ball game. You will be competing against each other in a series of trials and challenges for the right to remain in the camp.

"One of you will be become the first ever 'I'm A Celebrity Legend'."

The trailer continues to show shots of the stars looking exasperated and exhausted, as they compete in terrifying looking challenges and get pushed to breaking point.

Geordie duo Ant and Dec took to Twitter in September last year to confirm the new show would be going ahead as they shared a video on the platform.

"South Africaaaa! That's right, we're filming a very special version of I'm A Celebrity in South Africa, which is coming to your tellies in 2023," they revealed alongside the clip.

"We've got news," Dec added: "It's probably the worst kept secret in television, but we can confirm we're doing a very special series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in South Africa!

"We're here, it's going to be your favourite celebrities from the last 20 years who are going back in to do it one more time."

Paul says being asked to do the show again is 'special' (ITV)

The pair revealed the line-up during last night's installment of their ITV show Saturday Night Takeaway, where the excited duo showcased the nine stars to the live studio audience.

Boxing champ Amir Khan starred in the 2017 series of the jungle show, and now he's ready to do better in the famous trials.

The Bolton lad said: "I’m a Celeb helped me beat my fear of spiders and snakes and made me tougher. This time I will not be soft on the trials."

Series 16 contestant Carol Vorderman added: "Doing I’m a Celeb changed me and I can’t wait to take part. Our WhatsApp group from 2016 is still going."

Olympian Fatima Whitbread , who famously got a cockroach stuck up her nose during a trial, spoke of her co-stars.

She said: "I learnt a lot about myself last time. There will be some life-size characters and life-size egos in South Africa too."

Former soap star star Helen Flanagan is also returning to the jungle after being voted to do almost every trial the last time.

Referencing her last stint, she spilled: "Am I going to be a jungle warrior and amazing? No. I’ll be scared but I will have a go be a lot better than last time."

Supermodel Janice Dickinson got into a jungle spat way back in 2007, but this time around she is keen for harmony in camp.

She spilled: "I’m back for more fun and friendship, and to get on with everyone. You never know what’ll jump up and bite you."

Diversity star Jordan Banjo also had his say on returning to the show, revealing: "A series with campmates from over the years is cool. My fellow Diversity dancers are excited to see me suffer again."

Meanwhile former royal butler Paul Burrell said it was "special" to return to the series, after his hilarious reactions to the trials in series four.

Paul, who recently shared he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer, said: "Being asked again is special. I ate kangaroo testicles in Australia. I expect everything to be bigger in South Africa."

Ex-cricketer Phil Tufnell won the series 20 years ago in series two, and he said of his comeback: "They phoned to invite me back and I said yes immediately. I experienced it all in the jungle which really appealed to me."

Finally, Happy Mondays star Shaun is ready for all the action yet again. He said: "In the trials I ate a lot of penises, testicles and eyeballs. I loved living outdoors and could’ve stayed another year."

The special series of I'm A Celebrity is set to air in April on ITV1 and ITVX.
