First look at how Glasgow 700-home Lancefield Quay riverside development could look

Photos revealing how a proposed 700-home development at Lancefield Quay could look have been released as the project is opened up to the community.

A digital online consultation begins today inviting locals to learn more and share their thoughts on the plans, which would see a four acre site next to the River Clyde - which has lain vacant since 2007 - transformed into a residential led mixed-use development.

Global property development and investment firm, Osborne+Co and MRP are behind the joint venture, which aims to create a "vibrant community" of 400 build to rent homes and 300 private homes, alongside landscaped public and green spaces.

A planning application is expected to be submitted to Glasgow City Council in spring, with hopes of getting on site by early 2022.

Osborne+Co development director Will Hean believes the plans for Lancefield Quay align with the council’s city centre living strategy, which aims to double the population to 40,000 over the next 15 years.

He said: “We’re builders by background and we make our money by building things rather than buying sites, sitting on them and moving them on.

“There’s lots of bits of Glasgow which have been neglected for years and have maybe been bought by speculators rather than people who wanted to get on and build things.”

To join the Lancefield Quay consultation, visit the project website HERE or phone 0800 987 5990 between 3pm and 7pm on Thursday.
