A long three years of waiting is finally over for Derry Girls fans, as the Channel 4 show is set to return in 2022, as the first trailer for the third season has been released.
The award-winning sitcom took a long hiatus as the cast went off to do other solo projects, but the final season is nearly upon us.
All of the fantastic five of Erin's (Saoirse-Monica Jackson) posse are set to return to their original roles - with Nicola Coughlan as Erin, Louisa Harland as Orla, Jamie-Lee O'Donnell as Michelle and Dylan Llewellyn as James.

The show hit screens back in January 2018, and was instantly a cult-favourite among those from Derry, and across the world.
There is now an infamous mural painted of the cast in Derry, and fans have been eagerly anticipating the new season to hit screens across the UK.
The show blurb reads: "In Derry, Northern Ireland, a young girl and her cousin embark on many exciting adventures after they attend a Catholic girls' school in the midst of a national conflict."

Creator Lisa McGee confirmed the news on Twitter, with the caption: "We’re back b******! Happy St Paddy’s day!"
Writer Lisa has previously said this series has become a "love letter" to her homeplace of Derry, and how she was shaped as a person by the community.
