The Sandon has released the first images of it’s new hotel as the 115-bed venue nears opening.
Last year, the ECHO reported that the popular Anfield pub was set for a £1 million expansion and now the work is due to be completed in the next few weeks.
As the pub is just a stone's throw away from Anfield and it has close links with Liverpool FC, the Sandon Hotel is due to be an in-demand hotel with football fans.
Every home game the pub welcomes more than 5,000 match goers and football supporters each time the Reds play, owner Kate Steward said she now wants to give loyal fans a place to stay overnight.
The hotel is packed with signed memorabilia and has been designed with deep red hues dominating the colour scheme.
The rooms include sleeping pods and vary in size with the majority sleeping up to six people and others sleeping up to 10.
Kate Stewart said: "I’m delighted to see The Sandon Hotel coming together.
"We’re implementing the finishing touches and in just a few weeks it will welcome its first guests meaning that the pub and hotel combined will offer the complete experience.
"The Sandon is loved by Reds fans so it’s only right that we created a place that those travelling from further afield, or fans who want to relax and forget about finding a taxi home, can stay at right in the heart of Anfield.
"I’m also thrilled that the hotel has contributed to the local area. We have used local businesses, locally sourced materials and created jobs.
"It’s great to be able to give something back to Anfield and the wider Liverpool area."
