Florals, branches and greenery plus atmospheric lighting form the backdrop to a glamorous new dining room at city centre bar-restaurant Leila Lily's which continues both its trademark floral theme and a family tradition for its owner.
When Malhotra Group launched Leila Lily's in Grey Street, Newcastle, in 2019, it was an extra special moment for Atul Malhotra who named it after his then two-year-old daughter Leila Lily. The operations director for the group and son of its founder said it was a project close to his heart and his aim was to create a flagship venue and a lasting legacy for the city.
Fast-forward to 2023 and the £1.5m now AA-rosette award-winning restaurant is inviting customers to 'meet Leila Lily's younger sister' - as the bar opens its new dining room called Eva Rose, which this time is named after Atul's younger daughter.

Eva Rose is a private-hire dining room and also an event space on the lower ground floor beneath Leila Lily’s and Malhotra Group's intention is to provide the perfect setting for the likes of family celebrations, parties and corporate lunches.
It has a bar which can host up to 60 people and a dining area for up to 18 guests. And, as new images of the new downstairs space show, the bar's floral theme is extended into Eva Rose although its lavish soft furnishings and bespoke patterned wallpapers have been specially chosen for the new area. And, as its name suggests, lots of roses feature in its flowery decor.
Atul said: "Like sisters, the two venues are alike in some ways and very different in others. Both venues are opulently decorated and visitors to Eva Rose will find the same high standards of food and service.
“But our aim, when creating Eva Rose, was to fill a gap in the market: a space which lends itself as well to private parties and family events as it does to more restrained, formal occasions - and where theatricality meets quality at every level.”
Leila Lily’s award-winning team of chefs will be on hand to provide anything from canapés, afternoon teas and formal dining to buffets and menus for children’s parties, wedding receptions and themed celebrations. There is also a DJ sound booth plus a stage and the venue holds a late licence until 2am.
Eva Rose is now open for private hire bookings. For more information see here.
