First injury report for Commanders vs. Lions, Week 2

The first injury report of the week for the Washington Commanders featured six players, with only completely missing practice. The Commanders, who face the Detroit Lions Sunday, were without guard/center Wes Schweitzer Wednesday. Schweitzer injured his hamstring in the Week 1 win against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Also on Washington’s injury report was Pro Bowl defensive tackle Jonathan Allen. Allen injured his groin in Week 1 and underwent a precautionary MRI, according to head coach Ron Rivera. Allen said he was fine, reiterating the MRI was out of precaution.

Safety Kam Curl, who missed Week 1 after undergoing surgery on his right hand, was back at practice in a limited capacity. That could mean good news for Curl’s return against the Lions.

Linebacker Jamin Davis [personal] and right guard Trai Turner [quad] were also limited. Rookie tight end, who has battled a hamstring injury since early August, was a full participant and is on track to make his NFL debut.

The Detroit Lions had five players miss practice: running back D’Andre Swift [ankle], center Frank Ragnow [groin/foot], left tackle Taylor Decker [calf], defensive tackle Michael Brockers [knee] and guard Tommy Kraemer [back]. The injuries to Swift, Ragnow and Decker are the most concerning for the Lions.

Safety Ifeatu Melifonwu [hamstring] and guard Jonah Jackson [finger] were limited. Linebacker Julian Okwara [hamstring] participated fully.
