The Seattle Seahawks are currently engaged in another sluggish, defensive battle at home. This time, against the visiting Washington Commanders.
Washington started the afternoon with an opening drive touchdown, thanks to busted coverage from the Seahawks defense. The 51-yard score put the Commanders on the board first.

Washington did miss the ensuing PAT, keeping the score at six points. The Seahawks did manage to respond with an opening drive field goal of their own.
Since the first drive, Seattle’s defense clamped down and limited the Commanders to only a single field goal. Certainly the highlight of the first half for this unit was defensive lineman Leonard Williams’ first sack as a member of the Seahawks. It couldn’t have come at a better time, as it forced a Washington punt.

Unfortunately, the Seahawks offense remains mostly stuck in neutral, only managing three field goals of their own. Third down, once again, is a problem as Seattle is only 3-for-8 so far. The Seahawks did attempt to go for it on 4th down in Washington’s red zone, but a false start put an end to that in a hurry.
Seattle had an attempt for points right before the half, but quarterback Geno Smith was flagged for intentional grounding. Since the foul occurred with under ten seconds left in the half, there was a clock run-off.
The Seahawks will receive the ball to start the third quarter. Be sure to follow @TheSeahawksWire on Twitter for live updates, analysis and highlights during and after the game.
