First Dates: Twitch gamer Becky from Bristol hopes to 'inspire' transgender people

Bristolian First Dates contestant Becky Boulton has revealed what her experience of going on the show was like as a transgender woman.

The 22-year-old appeared on last week's episode (Thursday, January 13), which will be airing again tonight (Thursday, January 20) at 10pm.

As she strutted into the iconic restaurant, the Bristolian beauty received an "oh là là" from charismatic maître d'hôtel Fred Sirieix, who said she was like a "sexier and sassier" Kardashian.

Becky said she went on the show because she was starting to find dating apps overrated and boring,.

She said: "I actually cannot remember the last time I went on a date.

"Looks, don’t get me wrong, are very important, but I think it’s how you connect with someone as well - that’s a big thing for me.”

Becky, who says she has never been in a proper relationship before, was greeted by 32-year-old Bedfordshire motorcycle enthusiast Lee, who swooned over the Kardashian lookalike instantly.

As the date progressed, Becky asked how old Lee was, which then led to her asking him whether he minded the fact she was just 22.

Lee said: "Do you know what, it all just depends on the person, I’m so open-minded.

"[Someone] can be any age, man, woman, as long as I have that connection.”

In response, Becky said: "I think it takes a lot of courage to just come out... so if I’m being honest with you, I’m actually transgender. I’ve had no surgery or anything.

Lee told the bartender that he thought Becky was 'pretty fit' (Channel 4)

"The thing is, I've dated guys, but if I’m honest it’s just sex. I feel like guys see me as an object, and I don’t want to be seen that way; I’m not a fetish - I’m a human being.

"Obviously they have to be okay with what I have between my legs, completely, but at the same time it’s like what are this person's intentions with me?"

At the end of the show, it was revealed that Becky and Lee went out for more drinks after their initial restaurant rendezvous, but she was yet to introduce him to her beloved pet snake, Justin.

Posting on Instagram following the airing of her episode, Becky said: "So as most of you may know, I went on First Dates!

"I'm so thankful for this opportunity. I hope I can inspire others in that trans people live normal lives too and that we deserve to have the best for ourselves as much as everyone else.

"Dating can always be a little daunting for me being trans and I hope this episode reflects on these difficulties and brings awareness to those who may be completely oblivious to the difficulties that trans people can face in the real world.

"You can now watch this episode on All 4 now (Series 18, Episode 3) or you can watch me this Thursday (20th) on Channel 4 at 10pm.

"Thank you everyone for your support and love so far x"
