Proud Fred Sirieix watched daughter Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix claim gold for England in the 10m platform diving final at her first Commonwealth Games in Birmingham on Thursday.

The First Dates star, 50, could be seen punching the air as the London teenager finished with a score of 357.50 points.

It was a good day for the England diving team overall, with Lois Toulson taking home silver, upgrading from bronze in 2018 on Australia’s Gold Coast.

Spendolini-Sirieix had been leading her competitors ever since her second dive, and finished more than 20 points ahead of her compatriot.

Over on the men’s team, Jack Laugher also won gold, successfully defending his 1m springboard title for a second time, as team-mate Jordan Houlden walked away with bronze.

Sirieix took to social media to celebrate his daughter’s victory.

Uploading a clip of one of her dives, he could be heard cheering loudly as the teen descended into the water.

“Gold!” he captioned the post.

His 814k followers were quick to offer their congratulations in the comments section.

“Incredible! You must be so proud,” wrote one.

“Unreal diving,” agreed a second, followed by a string of fire emojis.

“Andrea was world-class, it was fantastic to watch,” declared a third.
