Fred Sirieix, the First Dates front of house star, has updated fans about his health after sharing news from a hospital bed. The charming 50-year-old took to Instagram Stories soon after undergoing major surgery.
In the clip, which was viewed by Liverpool Echo, the Channel 4 show favourite looked calm as he sat up on the bed while wearing a hospital gown. However, he then revealed to fans a picture of both legs wrapped in bandages.
The maître d'hôtel said: "Right... double knee operation was a success. I'm still coming around from the anaesthesia but all good! I'm about to have my Earl Grey tea."

Since sharing the update, the star of the match-making show spoken out in support for the NHS who went on strike last week. Explaining that the strikes were about patient care and safety, not just for money, Fred wrote: "It is a very hard and important job. If we don't look after the nurses then who will look after us when we are sick?"
He added: "The thing is we will all go to hospital sooner or later. The NHS need enough well paid and motivated staff to deliver the care we all expect. It is a false economy not to invest in health and social care."
