First Dates star Johnny Haskins passed away on Saturday.
The Kildare native appeared on the popular dating show back in 2019 after his daughter Carolann nominated him.
At the time, he said he did the show "for the craic".
He said: “I didn’t know a thing about it. My daughter sent in an application and they called me for interview.
“I said then that I’d do it for the craic. I really enjoyed it. Women my age don’t go to pubs on their own.
“I perform in pubs as a freelance musician so even if I saw someone, I’m playing until the end of the night when everyone is gone home. I’d been in an eight-year relationship that ended two years ago.”
Mr Haskins came from a musical background and performed with The Sorrento Showband and with Harry and the Escorts in the 1960s and 1970s
His death notice on RIP.ie said that he died "peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, in the loving care of the staff of St. Brigid's Hospice, The Curragh.
"Deeply regretted by his loving children Carolann and John, partner Trish, brothers, sisters, son-in-law, grandchildren Harry, Joshua and Charlotte, nephews Billy, Eddie and Johnny, family, neighbours and friends."
His funeral mass will take place at 2pm on Wednesday afternoon at St. Michael's Parish Church, Athy.
Anyone who wishes to watch the mass online can do so here.
