On Thursday a plethora of singletons met in the hopes of finding love in the latest episode of First dates Ireland, and viewers were left divided by one potential couple.
Among the hopefuls was 65-year-old Phil from Antrim, who was aiming to repeat the success of her daughter Carla who appeared on the show two years ago, and 69-year-old Kenny Rogers lookalike, Stan.
However, love did not appear to be in the air as Phil appeared to be unimpressed with Stan talking about himself so much.

“You should have told me,” Stan said during the interview at the end of the show between the couple, responding to Phill saying he had not asked many questions about her.
While it wasn’t a match for the pair, with a no from Phil, viewers were divided, with some people being unimpressed by her for being “rude” and others praising her for being honest.
“Not impressed with Phil at all. I get life is too short to waste time with someone you have no interest in but costs nothing to be kind about it,” one Twitter user posted
“That auld one was so rude,” another said.
One Twitter user thought the pair could have hit it off, posting: “Bit of over talking Phil - he may have been a bit nervous I think- thought you both could have been a hit!”
Some quite liked Stan’s appearance, with one posting: “What’s the postal address for the Kenny Rogers lookalike fan mail, very nice man chin up you’re great”.
Another Twitter user thought that Phil was honest in what she said: “Kind of boring tonight apart from the elderly people that was hilarious towards the end. Poor guy even though she was honest.”
One more Twitter account agreed that Phil was right in what she said: “Aul Phil dodged a bullet there ...which is a shame for him because he probably wanted to tell the bullet all about his parents and his ex Mrs.”
However, some would not be able to deal with the Twitter fallout if they appeared on the show: “I actually wouldn’t be able to cope with the Twitter roasting if I was ever on.”
