First Bus 'thoughts with everyone' after two kids knocked down on Glasgow street

First Bus have issued a statement after two children were knocked down on a Glasgow street in an incident which involved one of their vehicles

Emergency services rushed to Calder Street in the Govanhill area at around 5.50pm yesterday evening after they received reports of a five-year-old boy and a nine-year-old girl being hit by a vehicle.

The pair were quickly taken to hospital following the collision, their condition is currently unknown.

A spokesperson from First said: "We can confirm that one of our buses was involved in the incident on Calder St, Tuesday evening.

"A full investigation into the circumstances is now underway, and we are working closely with Police Scotland.

"The thoughts of everyone at First Bus are with all those involved and affected by this incident."

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Officers were called to reports of a serious road traffic collision on Calder Street, Glasgow around 5.50pm on Tuesday, 4 April, 2023.

"Two children, a girl aged nine and a boy aged five were taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.”
