First 10 High-Threat Illegal Migrant Criminals Arrive At Guantánamo Bay

Migrants arrive in Eagle Pass

The Department of Defense (DOD) has confirmed the arrival of the first 10 'high threat' illegal migrant criminals at the Guantánamo Bay Detention Camp in Cuba. These individuals are members of the violent Venezuelan criminal group Tren de Aragua (TdA), which has been causing terror in various U.S. communities.

President Donald Trump took swift action by issuing an executive order on Jan. 20 to designate TdA as a 'foreign terrorist organization.' In response, ICE and other federal law enforcement agencies conducted raids in Aurora, Colorado, leading to the arrest of over 100 TdA members.

The 10 high-threat migrants are currently being housed in vacant detention facilities at Guantánamo Bay as a temporary measure to ensure their safe and secure detention until they can be transported to their country of origin or another appropriate destination. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has confirmed that all 10 individuals are affiliated with Tren de Aragua.

The DOD emphasized that the Guantánamo Bay prison will exclusively accommodate 'the worst of the worst' criminals. This move underscores the seriousness with which the U.S. government is addressing the threat posed by TdA.

Joseph Humire, an expert on TdA and the executive director of the Center for a Secure Free Society, commended Trump's actions, describing them as 'tremendously significant.' He highlighted the need for a new approach to combat TdA's presence in the U.S., emphasizing the importance of dismantling the organization and deporting its members.

Humire stressed that TdA has rapidly expanded its operations in the U.S. in recent years, warranting a comprehensive national security response to eradicate the group from within the country.
