Firefighters battling a wildfire near Pasadena have received a boost as winds have calmed down, allowing aircraft to join the firefighting efforts. Pasadena Fire Chief Chad Augustin confirmed that aircraft have been conducting water drops over the fire since around 10 a.m. local time on Wednesday.

Chief Augustin mentioned during a news conference that crews will be working to establish a containment line around the fire by going behind areas where water was dropped. This strategic approach aims to prevent the fire from spreading further.

With the improved weather conditions and reduced wind speeds, Chief Augustin expressed optimism about the progress that can be made in the coming days. He stated, “We expect with favorable conditions over the next couple of days to start making good progress on this fire.”

Residents in the vicinity of the wildfire are urged to stay informed about the situation and follow any evacuation orders or safety guidelines issued by authorities. The efforts of firefighters and emergency responders are commendable as they work tirelessly to protect lives and property from the wildfire.
