Four fire engines were sent to tackle a blaze in a derelict pub.
At 5.20pm on Thursday (February 16), Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service were called to The Windmill Inn Wigan Road, Ormskirk. Smoke could be seen billowing from the former pub, which has been unused for years.
People were told to avoid the area, with drivers asked to make alternate travel plans, reports LancsLive. Firefighters were at the scene for 90 minutes and used two breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, and two thermal imaging cameras to extinguish the fire.

The Windmill is a Grade II listed building that dates back to the 18th century. It now lies in a sorry state, falling victim to vandalism and arson as well as the damp, water ingress and plant growth caused by years of dereliction.
In 2021, plans were approved to renovate and refurbish the property to form six one-bed apartments.
