FIREFIGHTERS are tackling a wildfire which broke out near a caravan park and care home south of Inverness.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said crews and six fire engines were sent to the scene around 2.45pm on Saturday.
Residents have been advised to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke.
A SFRS spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 2.45pm on Saturday, 10 June to reports of a fire in the open at Daviot, south of Inverness.
"Operations Control initially mobilised one fire appliance to the scene, increasing to six appliances and specialist resources.
“Crews remain on scene and local residents are asked to keep windows and doors closed to prevent smoke inhalation.”
The SFRS also confirmed that there have not been any reported casualties.
The blaze is around 30 miles from Cannich – the site of another recent wildfire, thought to be the largest recorded in the UK.
The SFRS had already warned of a “very high” risk of wildfire across this weekend.
The fire at Cannich burned for around two weeks.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Emergency services are currently in attendance at a wildfire in the Daviot area south of Inverness.
“The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service are currently dealing with the fire and we would ask local residents to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke.”
