Firefighters tackle blaze at Aberdeen recycling centre

UPDATE: Firefighters extinguished the blaze and left the scene late on Monday evening.

Firefighters are tackling a blaze at a recycling centre in Aberdeen.

Emergency services were called to the Bucksburn Recycling Centre on Bankhead Avenue at around 6.30pm on Monday.

Seven fire engines were seen tackling the blaze, and no injuries were reported.

An investigation into the source of the fire is underway.

Just before 9pm, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service encouraged residents to keep windows and doors closed whilst crews tackle the blaze.

The centre is currently closed to the public, with pedestrians being turned away at the gates.
