Firefighters rescue man trapped between two cars after Snipe Retail Park crash

A man was rescued by firefighters after getting his leg trapped between two cars at a retail park in Ashton-under-Lyne today.

Fire crews were called to reports of a collision Snipe Retail Park at around 11.45 on Saturday (March 26). It’s believed a man was climbing into his car when it rolled back and hit another vehicle.

The crash led to the man getting his foot trapped. After being rescued and assessed by firefighters, he was taken to hospital by a family member. The whole incident lasted around 45 minutes.

One witness told the Manchester Evening News : “A man was getting into his vehicle, it rolled back while getting in and he got his leg trapped between the door and the vehicle next to him."

A Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson added: “At around 11.45am today we were called to reports of a vehicle collision on Snipe Retail Park in Ashton-under-Lyne.

“The collision involved two vehicles and led to a man needing to be rescued after his foot became trapped. One fire engine from Philip’s Park attended the scene.

“After being rescued, the man was assessed by firefighters and was conveyed to hospital by a family member.

“Firefighters were on the scene for approximately 45 minutes.”
