The fire service confirmed it initially sent five appliances and a level platform.

"Firefighters are coming out of the door next to the Fry Inn but it is unclear which property it is exactly - there are no obvious signs of smoke damage. A gas man from Northern Gas Network is going in and out of the open door."

Although a fire personnel were present our reporter added: "At this time there doesn't seem to be any signs of firefighting activity. There is a police car round the back but no signs of damage."
