Firefighters get their hands dirty to raise cash for charity

A team of hard working firefighters got their hands dirty all in the name of charity.

The brave men and women of Whitburn Fire Station held their annual car wash to help local good causes.

They held the popular event on Sunday, May, 21 and this year decided to focus on local youths by getting them involved.

They welcomed volunteers from West Lothian College uniformed services, The Larder and the fire Brigade’s very own YVS scheme, who joined Police Scotland Youths.

And their great work paid off as they managed to raise over £800 by washing 400 cars.

A spokesperson said: “Whitburn would like to thank everyone who supported our car wash raising £862 for Firefighters999 and £100 for YVS Livingston.”
