Firefighters from across Swansea spend eight hours tackling huge fire

Crews from across Swansea rushed to Gower to deal with a large blaze at a farm. The fire broke out at an agricultural building in Llanmadoc and took more than 12 hours to put out.

The incident started at around 4.09pm and involved one large agricultural building measuring 40x80m and used as a wood store. Firefighters were there until past midnight making sure the blaze was fully extinguished. Police were also at the scene.

A spokesperson for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: "At 4:09pm on Wednesday, March 8, crews from Reynoldston, Gorseinon, Morriston, Swansea West, Swansea Central and Tumble were called to the incident and crews did not leave the site until 12:18am. 

"The police were also in attendance and the fire was extinguished but some areas were left to smoulder overnight. A re-inspection is due to take place today (Thursday, March 9)."
