Five fire crews were called out to a blaze that originated in a cooker at a block of flats in Mansfield. Firefighters attended Crispin Court at around 6pm on Tuesday, October 11, after receiving an alert from an automatic fire alarm system.
Crews from Ashfield, Mansfield, Blidworth, Edwinstowe and Warsop attended, but the fire was out on their arrival. A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said firefighters could smell smoke coming from a flat, and found the fire had originated in a cooker.
"We received an alert from an automatic fire alarm system on Tuesday, October 11 at 5.59pm to Crispin Court in Mansfield," he said. "Crews from Mansfield, Ashfield, Blidworth, Edwinstowe and Warsop attended the incident.
"Investigating the incident, crews could smell smoke coming from a flat and discovered it originated in the kitchen from the cooker, the fire was out on their arrival."
