Police have launched an investigation into a house fire in an area of Nottinghamshire. Four crews were in attendance at Arundel Walk in Bircotes last night (Saturday, March 4).
In a tweet published at 9.10pm, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said crews from Harworth, Misterton, Retford and Maltby, with an aerial ladder platform from Mansfield, were in attendance. By 11.30pm it said firefighters were dampening down the fire.
"Crews are dampening down the fire at Arundel Walk, Bircotes. A fire investigation will take place tomorrow (Sunday 5 March) morning," it said.
In an update today, Nottinghamshire Police said an investigation was underway. A number of neighbouring properties have been evacuated, but no-one has been injured.
Police and fire officers are currently at the scene and intend to be there for most of the day while an investigation takes place. Officers are asking for any members of the public with any information about the incident or footage to get in touch by ringing 101, quoting incident number 693 of 4 March 2023.
