Firefighters have been working tirelessly throughout the day to combat multiple fires raging across the county amidst challenging weather conditions. Los Angeles Fire Chief Kristin Crowley provided updates on the current status of the fires:
Palisades Fire: The fire has spread over 15,800 acres with a significant force of 1,792 personnel dedicated to containing it.
Hurst Fire: This fire has affected over 700 acres, with 260 personnel actively engaged in firefighting efforts.
Woodley Fire: Fortunately, this fire has been successfully controlled at around 30 acres, thanks to the swift response of the firefighters.
The Eaton Fire, which falls outside of LAFD's jurisdiction, has grown to a concerning size of 10,600 acres, as reported by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
In addition to battling these wildfires, LAFD has also been diligently responding to emergency calls. A total of 3,950 911 calls were addressed, including the management of 10 structure fires, as highlighted by Chief Crowley.
