Emergency services have been tackling a huge fire above a restaurant in Dunfermline through the night.
Firefighters remain at the scene on Canmore Street in the city after the alarm was first raised at around 6pm on Friday. Images shared on social media showed flames spewing from the upstairs windows of the building, which hosts Khushi's Indian restaurant.
Video footage shared with the Record showed the fire burning out of windows and doors on the top floor of the three-storey building. Shocked locals were seen watching on as the building burned while firefighters drew up to the scene.
Shortly before 11.30am on Saturday the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed two fire engines and a height appliance remained at the scene as crews continued to tackle the huge blaze.
There were no reports of any injuries following the incident and the fire does not appear to have been started deliberately.
An aerial image of the scene taken last night showed that the fire had eaten its way through the roof. The wooden beams that make up the building's top had been exposed by the vicious flames. Social media users reported being able to see the smoke from several miles away.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 6.10pm on Friday, April 21, officers were made aware of a fire in Canmore Street, Dunfermline.
"We attended to assist the Scottish Fire & Rescue Service with traffic management at the scene. There are no reports of any injuries."
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent four fire engines, as well as specialist support units, to the scene last night.
