Dublin Fire Brigade saved the lives of a number of dogs yesterday after a shelter in Finglas went on fire.
The blaze started early in the evening but crew members prevented it from spreading to the entire shelter.
Thankfully, no dogs were harmed during the fire - and one pooch was even adopted by a firefighter after the blaze was extinguished.
The DFB said on Twitter: "Firefighters rescued the furry occupants of this dog rescue shelter in Finglas earlier this evening.
"The fire was prevented from spreading to the entire shelter. No furry pals were harmed – in fact, one has been adopted by a firefighter and his new family can't wait!"
Members of the public praised the crew members on social media for their "brilliant work".
One said: "Ah, well done to you all. I wouldn't be able to resist that dotey face either!"
Another wrote: "Soo adorable. Good job to all our brave firefighters."
A third said: "Well done lads. That is so cool."
