Two men have been killed in Melbourne's north after their stolen car crashed into a pole while speeding at more than 100km/h.
Police found a sawn-off shotgun and another firearm in the Hyundai after the crash on Camp Road in Broadmeadows about 5.30am on Tuesday.
The vehicle, which was stolen from Moama in NSW in December, was seen travelling at speeds of 180km/h in the lead-up to the crash.
It's believed it was travelling about 100km/h when it rammed into the pole.
The passenger died at the scene and the driver died in hospital soon after.
The two men are yet to be formally identified.
Police were not trying to intercept the vehicle at the time of the crash, Detective Sergeant Daryll Out said.
"(It's) extremely worrying to police that we've got that kind of behaviour by people that are driving ... in these built-up areas at those speeds," he said.
"It had the potential to be absolutely disastrous for anybody else who would have been in the vicinity of it."
Police arem also investigating whether two collisions involving cyclists in Cheltenham and Beaumaris on Tuesday morning are linked.
Two men, aged 51 and 72, were taken to hospital with serious injuries following the separate collisions.
The driver in both incidents did not stop and police are investigating whether a stolen Holden Astra located in Black Rock was involved.
