Firebugs have targeted an Ayrshire sports venue for the second time in a week.
A blaze was reported at a stand at Kilmarnock Rugby Club off Queen's Drive around 1.25am this morning (Wednesday).
This comes after Ayrshire Live reported that a similar incident happened last week, leaving club chiefs "heartbroken".
The fire was extinguished and no one was injured, but it is being treated as deliberate and enquiries are ongoing.
Inspector Iain Farmer of Kilmarnock Police Station said: “This local facility is widely used with their range of activities throughout the week and this type of incident not only affects those that use this club but the community as a whole.
“I condemn such behaviour and I am appealing for witnesses who may have valuable information in relation to this incident to make contact with the police, referring to incident 0156 of January 25, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
“Additional patrols will be dedicated within the area.”
