Fire thug torched van on Coatbridge street in early hours attack

A van was set ablaze on a Coatbridge street in a deliberate fire in the early hours of the morning.

The incident happened on High Burnside Court at around 12.05am on Friday, April 22.

Police Scotland is now appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward to help with their investigation into the incident.

Officers described suspect is white, and of an average building. At the time of the fire-raising, he was wearing a black hooded top, black tracksuit bottoms and grey beanie hat and light coloured trainers.

Police said he ran away from the scene of the blaze towards Burnside Walk.

Detective Constable Craig McLean from Coatbridge Police Office said: "The suspect runs along High Burnside Avenue towards Burnside Walk, and turns right towards Kirkwood Street, before going out of sight.

"We are keen to hear from anyone who has CCTV footage or dash-cam footage from the area to get in touch."
