The fire service has issued a statement after a fire ripped through a building in a Nottinghamshire town. Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service attended a fire at a derelict building in Albert Street, Hucknall at 1.56am on January 7.
Four fire engines and the aerial ladder platform were used to extinguish the fire. Joint Fire Control said they had received a large number of calls about this incident from locals who they advised to keep their windows and doors closed.
By 8am the fire had been put out, with fire crews set to revisit and carry out a fire investigation. A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "We are going to go back at around 8.30am this morning to reinvestigate. The fire is out and we will be carrying out a fire investigation today."
