Fire service colleagues ask for help after watch manager goes missing in early hours

Colleagues from the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service are urging people to share an appeal after a watch manager went missing in the early hours.

Daniel, from Salford, was last seen in Manchester city centre just after 1am yesterday morning (Monday, August 22). The 41-year-old was last seen walking past Saint Mary's Parsonage, near to Crazy Pedro's on Bridge Street, before going missing.

Police said yesterday they were becoming 'increasingly concerned' about him. This morning, a spokesperson for the force confirmed that the search is continuing.

Carl Haslam, station commander for Farnworth fire station at GMFRS, said in a widely-shared tweet that Dan works as a watch manager for the service. He tweeted the missing appeal for him and urged people to share.

He said: "Please share. One of our Watch Managers has gone missing. Daniel, "Dan" 41, was last seen at 1.10am (Monday 22 August), walking past Saint Mary’s Parsonage, close to Crazy Pedro’s restaurant in Manchester City Centre. #MissingPerson."

The GMFRS Armed Forces Network tweeted: "Can you help us, one of our members is missing, and has been for over 24hr. #MISSING Daniel, "Dan" 41, was last seen at 1.10am this morning (Monday 22 August), walking past Saint Mary’s Parsonage, close to Crazy Pedro’s restaurant in Manchester City Centre."

Daniel is described as being six feet and three inches tall, and of broad build with short hair. He was last seen wearing a distinctive Fila jacket which has bright blue patches on the front with a white stripe around the middle and black at the bottom, as well as white Adidas trainers, light blue jeans and a navy t-shirt.

Anyone with information about Daniel’s whereabouts should contact police on 0161 856 5277 or 101.
