New Delhi: A day after fire engulfed a restaurant in West Delhi's Rajouri Garden area, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Tuesday visited the spot and also instructed the Fire Department to conduct safety audit across the national capital.

"Yesterday, an unfortunate incident of fire took occurred at a restaurant in Rajouri Garden. Today, I visited the spot and inspected it. Due to lack of proper drainage, the MCD and the Fire Department had already cancelled the NOC of the restaurant and ordered it to be closed," she said in a social media post.

Still, police are investigating the cause of the fire. Strict action will be taken against the culprits. To prevent recurrence of such incidents, the Fire Department has been instructed to conduct fire safety audit across Delhi," she added.
Police registers FIR
Earlier, Delhi Police said they registered an FIR against an unknown person in the restaurant fire case.
The fire had broke out at the restaurant situated close to the Rajouri Garden Metro Station on Monday, forcing people to jump off the roof of the building to save themselves.
