Fire crews are on the scene of a 'huge' house fire in Dumbarton this evening.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) were alerted to the incident at a property in Carmen View in Dumbarton shortly after 3pm on Sunday, January 29.
Police Scotland are also at the scene but there is no information at this stage about any casualties.
Concerned locals posted online about the 'huge' fire and said there are a 'large' number of emergency service vehicles in the area.
Speaking to the Record tonight, one local said: "The house was in a bad state. My sister and her neighbours all had to be evacuated.
"There were multiple fire engines and police on the scene and they were there for hours. A few streets had been blocked off too.
"The roof is off and there are no windows left, even the solar panels are gone.
"The blaze ripped through the house in minutes and nothing is salvageable.
"I seen the house from the back and even the brick work was crumbling away."
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokepserson said: "SFRS were alerted at 3:01pm to reports of a fire at a property at Carman View in Dumbarton.
"Operations Control mobilised five appliances and one hike vehicle and fire crews remain in attendance at the scene tonight."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: ""Around 3.10pm on Sunday 29 January 2023, police received a report of a house fire in Carmen View, Dumbarton.
"Emergency services are on the scene and Carmen View and Lomond Drive are currently closed."
