One person injured in Edinburgh fire as crews battle early morning blaze

Firefighters are tackling an ongoing blaze which broke out in Edinburgh this morning.

Fire crews rushed to the scene on Dalry Road in the capital just after 4am.

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have confirmed that a person has been injured as a result of the incident.

Scottish Ambulance Service attended to the individual on site.

The extent of the person's injuries is not yet known.

SFRS responded to the incident around 4am (Gavin Marks)

Photos taken at the scene show two blue-lit fire engines and multiple firefighters swarming the area near sweets and coffee shop, Levant Sweets, just a five minute walk from Haymarket train station.

Traffic cones have also been placed on the busy road to stop vehicles from passing.

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have confirmed they are currently in attendance.

Due to the ongoing nature of the event, they are unable to confirm details at this time.
