A VEHICLE fire has closed a carriageway of the M8 this morning.
The eastbound carriageway of Charing Cross has been closed from around 7am, April 3.
Traffic Scotland has urged drivers to use an alternative route.
In the latest update, motorists are being diverted onto the southbound M74.

They said in a statement: "M8 - Junction 18 (Charing Cross)
"The Eastbound carriageway is closed due to a vehicle fire.
"Please use an alternative route at his time."
Emergency services are at the scene, it is unknown if there are any injuries.
Traffic is not moving, and because of this, the surrounding network will be affected with heavy congestion expected.
Police Scotland, the Scottish Ambulance Service and the Scottish Fire Service have been approached for comment.
