A fire broke out late Wednesday night in a Studio City residence, spreading to nearby structures before being extinguished by firefighters. The incident occurred at a four-story house located at 3656 N. Sunswept Drive around 8:52 p.m. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded promptly with over 50 firefighters on the scene.
By 10:00 p.m., the blaze was under control, but not before causing damage to neighboring buildings and creating small spot fires. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in connection with the fire. One of the homes affected by the fire had its stilts damaged, leading to a collapse onto the hillside. Embers from the fire spread to adjacent brush, requiring additional efforts from the fire crews to extinguish them.
Aerial footage captured by affiliate KABC showed two neighboring structures engulfed in flames as ground units from the fire department worked to douse the buildings with water. Additionally, KABC's aerial pilots observed a smaller fire approximately one hundred yards away from the original incident in Studio City.
