Emergency services tackled a house fire close to a town centre.
Both police and Merseyside Fire and Rescue service were called out to Kitchener Street, St Helens at around 11.15am on July 25 to reports of a house fire. Two fire engines attended the scene along with several police patrols- upon arrival, a fire on the ground floor of a property was discovered.
Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus entered the property and put out the fire a short time later. No injuries were reported and the cause was found to have been an accident.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said: "On arrival crews found a fire in a room on the ground floor of a property. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property and extinguished the fire using a high pressure hose reel.
"The fire had been extinguished by 11.22am and crews carried out ventilation."
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "At around 11.10am this morning, Monday 25 July, we received a report of a fire at an address on Kitchener Street, St Helens. Emergency services attended and Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service (MFRS) extinguished the blaze.
"No injuries were reported. A joint investigation, carried out with MFRS found the fire to be accidental."
