Fire crews were called to a quiet street after reports of a fire during the early hours of the morning.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service confirmed fire crews were called to Walton Road following reports of embers coming from a chimney shortly before 7am on January 12. Two fire engines were at the scene at around 6.54am.
On arrival, firefighters found the chimney of a two storey end terraced property on fire. Crews gained entry to the property and used hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze.

It was confirmed no injuries were reported. A small section of Bradewell Street was blocked off to motorists while the fire was dealt with, Walton Road remained open with minimal disruption and pedestrians were able to pass. Firefighters had left the scene by 8.09am.
One person told the ECHO they had not heard any alarm but "suddenly saw the blue flashing lights" in the early morning. Another, on their way to work, wondered what had happened as activity seemed to centre around a local pub.
Some bus services were also affected, with Arriva North West confirming services 310 and 345 were diverted via Westminster Road and Barlow Lane in both directions.
