Fire crews were called out to rescue a car submerged in floodwater from Long Ashton this morning. The driver and the abandoned car got into trouble on Yanley Lane.
Bedminster Fire Station used inflatable equipment to retrieve the individual and bring them to dry land. The fire crew shared pictured of the incident on their Twitter page.
A yellow weather warning was brought in by the Met Office yesterday (January 11) that will last until 5pm today, due to their prediction that Bristol would be hit be 23 hours of rain.

As a result, it's likely that we will see the rain affect other places in or around the city as well, so motorists should exercise caution due to wet road surfaces and reduced visibility.
People have been cautioned not to drive through floodwater by Fire and Rescue services.
Avon Fire and Rescue service said: "Do not drive through floodwater. "We’ve attended several calls about flooding overnight and this morning. If you’re in an emergency, call 999."
The British Red Cross has confirmed their emergency response teams are on standby across the South West today as heavy rain is set to hit the region. Flooding and damage from the extreme weather is expected.
