Fire crews tackled a blaze at a fish and chip shop on a Newcastle street on New Year's Eve.
Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene on Chillingham Road in Heaton following a report of a fire at Gills fish and chip shop at 16.47pm on Saturday (December 31).
Three fire engines were sent to scene and remained there for approximately an hour. Thankfully, nobody was injured in the blaze.

Officers from Northumbria Police attended the scene to assist with traffic in the area while firefighters dealt with the flames.
A police spokesperson said: “At 5pm on Saturday (December 31), we received a report of a fire at a fish and chip shop in Chillingham Road, Newcastle.
“Officers attended and assisted with traffic management in the local area while firefighters from Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service dealt with the fire.
“Nobody was injured in the incident.”
A spokesperson for Tyne and Wear Fire and Service confirmed that they dispatched three fire engines and a duty officer to the scene on Chillingham Road.
They said: "I can confirm, following a first call 16.47pm, we were in attendance at the scene of a building fire on Chillingham Road in Heaton at 16.50pm.
"We had three fire engines and a duty officer in attendance, we dealt with the fire alongside police. Our crews left the scene at 17.45pm."
