Flames rip through car as Fire crews rush to Nottingham street

Firefighters were called to tackle a car fire which erupted in a Nottingham street.

The blaze took place in Montgomery Street at 6.26pm on Monday, February 7.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue were called out to the incident and say they used two hose reels to extinguish the fire.

A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue said: "The fire was on Montgomery Street.

"It was a car fire - we used two hose reels to extinguish as well as breathing apparatus. We were called at 6.26pm."

Pictures taken at the scene show the extent of the fire, with the flames engulfing the vehicle. Another picture showed crews working hard at the scene to get the fire under control.

An eyewitness told Nottinghamshire Live that no-one had been injured in the incident.

The car involved appears to be a Seat, according to the photos taken from the scene.
