Fire crews battling huge blaze at Glasgow recycling centre as smoke seen across city

Fire crews are currently battling a huge blaze at a recycling centre in Glasgow.

Emergency services raced to the facility on Dawsholm Road in the north west of the city after the alarm was raised at around 2.10pm on Sunday, June 27.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent six appliances to the scene to help battle the flames.

Huge clouds of smoke can be seen billowing from the building from miles away in the city.

The extent of the damage is not yet known.

There are no reported casualties as a result of the blaze.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 2.12pm on Sunday, June 27, to reports of a fire within the grounds of a recycling centre on Dawsholm Road, Glasgow

"Operations control mobilised six appliances and specialist resources to the scene.

"Crews currently remain in attendance.

"There are no reported casualties."
