Firefighters are battling a huge blaze in Tameside this evening. The fire service were called to Stalybridge after a fire broke out at an allotment. The blaze started in a chicken shed.
Smoke could been seen billowing into the air for miles around the town. Three fire engines raced to the scene, close to a residential area in the town.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "At around 8pm on Saturday 8 October, firefighters were called out to a fire at an allotment on Kensington Grove, Stalybridge. Three fire engines, from Hollins, Mossley and Hyde fire stations, quickly attended the scene where a chicken shed had set on fire.
"Crews are tackling the fire with two breathing apparatus and two hose reels and remain in attendance."
