Firefighters tackled a raging blaze for almost 11 hours after being called to a derelict building in Bellshill on Tuesday night (May 30).
The building on Liberty Road, believed to be the former YMCA centre, was up in flames after 11pm with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sending four fire appliances to the scene.
Nearby resident's saw plumes of thick black smoke pouring out of the building with one describing the scenes as "shocking".

She told Glasgow Live: "There was thick black smoke, it was terrible. That was a building previously used for kids so it was really shocking."
There were no casualties following the fire and crews left the scene at 10.01am this morning (May 31).
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 11.07pm on Tuesday, May 30 to reports of a building on fire at Liberty Road, Bellshill.
“Operations Control mobilised four fire appliances and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting a derelict building.
“There were no reported casualties and crews left the scene at 10.01am on Wednesday, May 31, after ensuring the area was made safe.”
Police Scotland have now launched an investigation into the inferno.
A police spokesperson said: "Around 11.30am on Tuesday, 30 May, police were called to assist at a fire in Liberty Road, Bellshill. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of the fire."
