Fire crews are battling a blaze inside a flat in Edinburgh this morning.
Emergency crews scrambled to Upper Grove Place in Fountainbridge after the alarm was raised shortly before 9am on Thursday September 8. A picture taken from the scene, and shared with Edinburgh Live, show police and fire engines at the scene.
Officers appear to have closed off the road while firefighters tackle the blaze. A second picture shows plumes of smoke billowing up into the sky from either side of the building as fire crews struggle to contain the blaze.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they sent four appliances to the scene. It's currently unknown if anyone has been injured as a result of the blaze.
A spokesperson for the SFRS said: "We were alerted to a fire inside a dwelling on Upper Grove Place at 8:52 on Thursday, September 8.
"Operations control mobilised four appliances and one height appliance and extinguished the fire. Three appliances and one height appliance remain at the scene."
