FIRE crews are battling a blaze at a top Scottish restaurant with a number of road closures in place.
Police Scotland released an alert on Sunday morning after reports of a fire at Mother India in Glasgow at around 11am.
The institution is regularly named as a favourite of celebrities visiting the city, with many trying its famous fusion creation: haggis pakora.
The Mother India restaurant posted on Facebook confirming the fire.
It said: “We’ve unfortunately had a fire at Mother India (Westminster Terrace) and the fire brigade are still on site.
“We will be closed today/tomorrow and once we have assessed the damage, we will update you.”
Police Scotland said in a statement: "Due to a fire at Westminster Terrace, Glasgow, reported around 11.15am on Sunday, 23 February, road closures are in place.
"Sauchiehall Street between Derby Street and North Claremont Street, Kelvingrove Street, Westminster Terrace and Parkgrove Terrace are all closed.
