Fire breaks out at nature reserve as emergency services called to scene

A BLAZE has broken out at a nature reserve in Aberdeen as fire crews have been called to the scene.

Emergency services were called to a report of a fire out in the open on the western edge of Aberdeen at Den of Maidencraig Nature Reserve at around 7.34pm on Wednesday.

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said they have two appliances at the scene and that the blaze is ongoing.

A spokesperson SFRS said: “We received the call at 7.34pm this evening.

“It’s a fire in the open and we currently have two appliances at the scene.”
