West Ham United are just a week away from discovering who they will face in the Europa Conference League’s round of 16.
The Hammers will be drawn against one of the eight sides who win their play-off knockout round ties in the competition, with the first legs taking place on Thursday night.
Of the eight first-leg results, six ended in 1-0 scorelines, with another ending in a goalless draw in Norway. That means that seven of the eight ties are very open heading into next Thursday’s second legs.

However, of the current 16 possible opponents, one seems almost certainly unlikely to progress, with Italian side Fiorentina thumping Portuguese outfit Braga 4-0 away from home.
Fiorentina were leading 1-0 at half-time following Luka Jovic’s first-half goal, with the ex-Real Madrid striker opening the scoring. However, after Vitor Tormena’s red card early in the second half, Fiorentina took advantage, with Jovic getting a second on the hour mark before Arthur Cabral netted twice in the final 11 minutes.
Elsewhere in the first leg, West Ham’s group stage opponents Anderlecht lost 1-0 away at Bulgarian side Ludogorets Razgrad. There were also 1-0 wins for Lazio, AEK Larnaca, Partizan Belgrade, Qarabag FK and Trabzonspor. Bodo/Glimt and Lech Poznan played out a goalless draw.
